Hi Liz,
 I hope you are well?
I’ve finally managed to get hold of some elusive pictures of Billy- (Now called Wizz/ Wizzle!- due to Billy wizz and the fact that it seems to be quite apt for him the mucky bugger!) Attatched are a couple of photos from a 3 day clinic about a month ago now where he was absolutely fab and earned lots of admirers!
Since then we’ve been to his first unaffiliated dressage at Southview against some very smart looking  ( not prelim) horses and despite attempting to jump the white boards (because that what jumping horses do mummy- Why on earth should i stay one side of them!?) he ended up 3rd with 68%.
We did our first hunter trial at Llanymynech a couple of weeks ago and he thought that big open fields and xc jumps were marvelous fun and despite not being a big fan of dead patches of grass or hay racks he zipped around loving it!
Finally he did his first baby ode last weekend and ended up 4th out of about 25 with a 33 dressage 1 sj run out at a very scary fish type sj ( partly my fault too!) and then clear xc - up and down steps and over ditches etc no problem- i am thinking however he enjoyed it so much i may be having to do some bit upgrading in the not too distant future!   You can see the pics from the xc if you follow this link  http://www.mrbphotography.co.uk/search/events/249/254/?page=11

Basically wizz has been an absolute star and not put a foot wrong- out hacking he’s the brave on- leading the supposed nanny horses!  To do in general he is a sweetie and loves all the fuss and attention he gets, he cant help but draw attention where ever he goes- i just have to keep reminding myself he’s only 4 as he’s so grown up about everything!
He’s off down to uni with me next week to a lovely yard with its own xc course etc and my plans for the winter include some BD and BSJA to keep him ticking over before we aim for the 5yo classes out with BE next year!-  I can’t wait!

Thank you so much again for a horse who is such a joy to ride and to be around.

Hiya Liz
Hope you are well.
Just thought I would send you a little picture of Sooty at his last show.  Not the best photo its very difficult to get friends to take pictures.
We are having at great time, we go hacking on our own now, he is a little star with traffic but the rubbish bins, and daffodils are scary things….
We have qualified for the Summer BD regionals in Novice and have started having a go with Elementary.  We still have a little spooks at the letters - bless him.
Cannot remember if I told you but we were 13th at the Nationals, he was a very good boy but thought it would be funny to have a buck in the middle of the test (lost a few marks for that one !!)
Anyway, hope you are well.
Thanks again.

Hi Liz

Just thought I would let you know how we are getting on.

Ashe has been renamed thanks to my two young daughters who love the film Narnia and now Ashe is now Azlan. It took him a couple of weeks to get use to it. Initially he was completely oblivious to my calls when he was out in the field but now comes to his new name.

Azlan is loved by all on the yard as he has the most wonderful temperament and people can’t believe how mature his attitude is for a 3 year old, it even amazes me how good he is. If his temperament is an example of his bloodline then I would highly recommend Timeless/Goodtimes progeny.

Azlan has not put a foot wrong since he arrived in August. Apart from being a very dirty in his stable I have given up on shavings and now put him on straw which he is much better on.

Anyway on to the important stuff, as usual time flys by and we were now in the middle of November and I had not got round to sitting on him for one reason and other. So last weekend I bit the bullet and decided that it was time to break him in properly. Of course he had been worked on the lunge, long reined, saddle on and lent on but had not progressed any further.

Due to the fact that he doesn’t seem to be fazed by any thing you ask of him. I just knew I could trust him. So once I was on board and had been led round the arena once I knew I could go off on my own, which I did and he was as good as gold. I didn’t want to be lunged on him due to a previous bad experience I had, with my first youngster. I was right that I could trust him as he never put his back up once and didn’t do anything naughty. This so far has been the easiest horse I have ever been involved with to break in.

I look forward to our winter training and the young horse classes next year.

Thanks for a lovely horse he was just what I needed.

Hi Liz,

Hope you are well & are enjoying married life!

I thought it was about time I updated you on Indi.  She is really well and has filled out and muscled up.  She is stunning and wherever we are people stop to admire.

We have worked hard on her flat work, she has fabulous paces and is a joy to watch.  I had forgotten how challenging young horses could be, but I have enjoyed every minute.  She seems to have grown up recently, so all our hard work is paying off.

I am now at my friends’ yard which is great, as it is the next best thing to having our own place.  They have 26 acres which we can hack over which is fun after a schooling session.  We are planning to join the Northern Dressage Group as they hold competitions and clinics close to us.

Thanks again for all the help and advice you gave me at the beginning.

Love

Hi Liz

We bought Wilfret from you last Autumn (2006) and thought we should update
you on how he is doing.
We backed him Christmas 2006 and Alastair has only had time to ride at the
weekends and lessons every 3 weeks or so.  But now with a new trainer and
more regular lessons these past few months.

He went to his first ever dressage competition on Sunday 16 December 2007
(Trailblazers) and won both classes with 68% in Prelim 7 and then 70.41% in
Prelim 18.  We are delighted.

Boy can he jump too and loves it!  Weekend before last, he jumped a narrow
log with no wings etc, planks and saw and jumped fillers for the first time
in his lesson and last weekend he jumped them all again and a water tray as
well!

He is an angel to handle and you can do anything with him.  He is totally
relaxed about us clipping him and was from the first time and great with the
farrier.  His feet are so strong and such good shape, he has remained bare
foot since we got him.  He travels in the trailer on his own or with Karino
very happily and eats from the minute he gets in, to the time he gets out!

People always ask us where we got Wilfret from and we always recommend you
and if we did ever want another horse, we would certainly come to you 1st.

He has his own website where pictures and video clips of his latest
achievements can be seen!

Best Wishes
Rachael & Alastair

HI Liz

We took Wilfret to his first Affiliated Novice yesterday and WON the class overall with 69.17% !!He got 64.48% in the second class too. Overall very pleased with him ……….again. All in very strong windswhich didnt bother hinm at all. He is really growing and filling out - every time we go out with him someone comments on how he has grown and filled out ! He is  at least 16.3 now and filled and muscled to match! He is absolutely superb to do anything with and a joy to ride every time.

Thanks

Alastair and Rachael
